Shipping
Information
The shipping rates as calculated in our
shop cart are the actual “real time” rates established by the USPS and UPS.
We include a small handling charge to cover order processing, shipping
materials, our time to pick, pack, and deliver to the post office.
We do not use FEDEX. Also, when
comparing UPS two and three day rates to the rates provided by the US Postal
Service, we have found that rates from the US Postal Service are lower. Plus US
Postal Service delivers on Saturday at no extra charge. Also, be aware that
if we are shipping UPS ground packages from California and destinations located
east of the Rockies it generally are at least 4-5 days and Florida may take 6
days.
We make every effort to ship within two days of receiving your order.
Holiday periods or orders with incomplete information may take longer.
All regular orders shipped to the continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii and Guam are
shipped via United States Postal Service (USPS) Priority Mail unless you
specify otherwise. Depending on your location, most orders arrive to you
within 2 – 3 days from the time we ship. Christmas holiday shipments may
require an extra day or two depending on how busy the post office becomes.
International orders are shipped via U.S. Post Office Global Priority or Global
Express (whichever is cheaper). Generally this takes four to six days but
can be more if your location is remote or your local customs agency delays it.
Please also be aware that some countries impose import taxes.
EXPEDITED SHIPPING
We understand that some customers may want
expedited or overnight shipping. We often cannot make Express or UPS Next
Day cut off times due to circumstances beyond our control at this time.
Most customers urgent shipping needs can be met by informing us of the date you
need it by in the comments section of the checkout process and also stating
that “this is an urgent order...I need it by XXXX”. We make every effort
to get the order out the the following day. For example, if you
place an order on Monday, we will process it Monday evening and it will go out
on Tuesday morning. You will receive it on Wednesday.
WARM
WEATHER SHIPPING
During warm weather (usually June through September) we
recommend chocolate be shipped via "Next Day Air" to Southern
states/regions. This may result in additional shipping charges.
Please be advised we may have to hold shipment to avoid weekend or holiday
delays, but if so, we WILL advise you in advance! Note that properly
handled, chocolate may be melted and re-melted literally hundreds of times
without impacting the quality. It is not at all necessary that it be
shipped in an expedited way unless actual melting temperatures are anticipated.
If some softening/sticking of the chocolate occurs, it will not impact
the quality.
LOST
ORDERS
WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST ORDERS ONCE
THEY HAVE SHIPPED. If you have not received your order within a week of
confirmation of shipment, email us regarding your situation and we will
research and consider solutions. We reserve the right to refuse refund or
reshipment. We make every effort to send you a delivery confirmation
tracking number so you can track the package.
